hanging out in a tree

26322933-L.jpg

when suddenly he dropped out of the tree and hit the water
26322936-L.jpg

he arose out of the water with his catch

26322941-L.jpg

he flew over to another tree

26322937-L.jpg

and then chowed down

26323404-L.jpg

the only other creature happier than that osprey was me because I have always wanted to gat a pic of a raptor coming out of the water with its catch. icon10.gif

    Nice!
I love the one of the bird coming out of the water! I've never watched one hunt before, much less dive in for something! Just think how specialized their eyes must be -- some kind of polarization? To be able to see through the water to see fish -- then the timing involved? Thank heavens all we have to do is walk to the refrigerator! :):

Thanks Eric. I've been trying for this shot for some time now. Thankfully there was no one around but the birds to see my celebration when I chimped and saw that I got that shot. :D

    Hey Dee,

They are amazing. I have watched them hunt and they never go hungry, It may take 3-4 tries but they always end up with a fish.
