I had to get down, on my sore knee, swollen with scrapes from my fall the other day, I dot down on the gritty ground, then laid on my stomach, and "shot" the squirrel.

Can't compare with an Osprey, is better than most of my birds, IMO. I chimped off all but two to make room on that last card, one was in focus, the squirrel part, anyway. So here he is!!

Comments???? Is he a flyer? Bill and I were walking to the rookery a week or so ago and a squirrel "flew" right near me. The whole thing was over too fast for me to react.

This squirrel climbed a tree, very fast, and on the other side from me. I would have chimped him off anyway.
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

Nice shot G. I love the lighting and the perspective of this shot. What time of day was it? How far away were you?

Beats my furry woodland creature shot I took last week. After being gone last week and coming home to a couple of nice shots by you was pleasent.

Also, congrats on making the final movie challenge. Good luck.

    peace.

He's just gorgeous, awwww I wish we had squirrels in Australia.
Well Ginger I would be really really really happy to get a shot of a squirrel.
This is a nice shot, shows him being quite cautious, he looks in really good condition too.......nicely captured........Skippy (Australia)

Thanks, Johno, Skippy, AJ, I agree, it is a good shot, better than the birds I sweat over!

Same time of day. Somewhere between around 3 PM and 7:30 PM, so probably 5 or 6. I had about 20. Had been waiting for some egrets to fly. I mean, they looked so ready to, I got bored after awhile, saw the squirrel and ended up on the ground. The silly animal hopped towards me, rather than away. But it was in weird bursts. I kept thinking I would catch him in the sun, but that did not seem to be happening. I chimped a slew off. The force was with me, he/she had to be, I had no idea what I was taking off, I mean I wanted the heron not a squirrel. Finally I thought, oh, I will leave two, had no idea if in focus, light, shade, whatever.

I was just lucky, had the force!
Thanks for commenting. I should show my dog group, one of them would probably want one, too.
