Not too crazy about the major loss of detail on the left side. Maybe a crop would look better?

I'm seeing a total loss of detail I'm afraid.. I don't see an image

The left side is a total loss. But the bee looks great so I would definitely crop.

I agree and I hate that.

Maybe I'll experiment with some crops.

I'd say crop it as tight as you can get away with and still keep good composure. It's impressive to get the bee in flight, so you want it to take up as much of the frame as possible. If you move it to a third, it'll add more movement to the image as well. Great capture though.

I agree. The good news is that it appears that the entire be is in focus, which is really hard to do with one in flight. The bad news is that it takes up very little of the frame, so you will have to crop a lot. The two are connected: the farther away you are, the greater the DOF. The bee is a small enough part of the frame that once you crop, you probably won't be able to anything at all large without visible grain, but it still may look fine on the web. On the other hand, I have done some pretty extreme crops of bugs, and most people don't stare closely enough to notice.
