Andy...any luck having the guys looking into the reverse DNS lookup issue for mx3.smugmug.net (208.79.45.22)? Appears it's still not responding properly.
Ran the test again just a moment ago and while mx1 and mx2 respond fine we're still seeing this for mx3...
smtp:208.79.45.22smtp A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 208.79.45.22:25
Not an open relay. 0 seconds - Good on Connection time 0 seconds - Good on Transaction time OK - 208.79.45.22 resolves to mx3.smugmug.net Warning - Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner

One option is to use Gmail as your dgrin contact email, then set Gmail for forward any mail from Dgrin to your main email account. You will still get your email at your main account, including any notifications, forwarded by Gmail.
That is in fact what I do today, as I have a dedicated gmail acct for all photography activity, and it forwards to my main email. Also saves from having my main email exposed on the web.
Simply go into Gmail, and create a filter to forward any email from dgrin.com to your main email address. Should solve your problem as well,
I'm not an expert on mail servers, but I think your configuration is telling the world that mx3 is an active server and it is occasionally being used for outgoing mail, yet when a site does reverse dns to smugmug.com and gets mx3 in dns rotation and it doesn't respond, they mark email from you as spam. I don't think the configuration is quite right and that is probably leading to occasional problems. This looks like something to be fixed if you want reliable outgoing email.
a little more follow up on my end with AT&T
Andy et al,
I spoke again to AT&T Tier 2 Tech Support who were even less helpful this time around.
During my brief conversation with them they stated that unless Smug/Dgrin gets a bounced email back then AT&T can't really do much for me/us as they have nothing to go off of. It's possible that smug/dgrin may have an IP or domain address that is black listed but for whatever reason they cannot diagnose further unless smug/dgrin gets a bounced message back nor can they tell me if smug/dgrin is even listed on it.
AT&T feels that these email notifications are most likely not even getting to their servers according to what is happening.
They also stated that most likely the mx3 record would not be an issue but nonetheless he recommended that it be looked in order to determine if there are any other underlying issues.
Victory is mine!! :-)
Ok...I updated the filter in my email account to allow from "smugmug.com" (before I had it set to allow from help@smugmug.com) and I'm now receiving notifications!!
Here's how you do it...
From your mail account click on "Options" in the upper right of the page.
Next click on "filters" from the menu on the left hand side of the page.
Next click on the "create or edit filters" link.
A new page should launch...ignore all the stuff about forwarding mail to your mobile device, etc.
Next click on the "add" button.
Now create a filter name - I called mine "SmugMug".
For the section that says "If all of the following rules are true..." add smugmug.com in the box provided to the right of "From Header".
Reading from left to right that top section should be: From Header-->Contains-->smugmug.com (do not check the box next to "match case").
Next at the bottom of the page where it says "Then..." change the dropdown menu to "inbox".
Finally click save changes at the bottom and you're done.

I tried it as well earlier yesterday as well as requesting AT&T to unblock a particular port which they did not appear to do. I don't think the filter worked but I just reset my password/email/and re-did the filter on my at&t email settings and hopefully a combination of all of these will finally take.

I will try both these suggestions as well as toggling my notifications on/off.
I am sure you're tired of this problem and thread, so thanks again for all your persistence and help with this issue.
