1D Lite

I'm hoping for a camera like this to be announced either tomorrow (Aug 19 per http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/digital/rumors.html#aug192009) or sometime in September.
I see this filling the, imo, gaping hole between the 1D and the 50D. The 5D2 is the "1Ds Lite", filling the hole between the 1Ds and the 50D, but there is nothing for those of us craving pro AF and frame rate in a more portable body (optional vertical grip) and more reachable price.
Canon would have several options for what sensor to put in this camera... 16mp Full Frame (1Ds Mk-II sensor) or 12-16mp APS-H (new 1.3x crop sensor) or 10mp APS-H (1D Mk-III sensor), or 12mp FF (5D1 sensor) in a conventional-sized body with 45 point AF and 8 to 10fps. HD video would be nice, as would weather seals, a 3" VGA LCD, and support for EF-S lenses at reduced image size. Basically a Canon D700 beater.
Any takers?

An "accurate" reproduction of a scene and a good photograph are often two different things.
