    Very controlled lighting Andrew.

    What was your setup?

Mostly two Speedlite 580ex's on the sides. Played around with the angles. Fairly quick exposure and teeny aperture (f/22). SL's are about 8" away, but the low aperture seems to have helped counter all that.

I like #3.. but all are cool. I have done something similar with billiard balls, but didn't have near the success you did.

Very nice effort Andrew. thumb.gif For me #3 works the best as I can see the
whole story there. The fade to black is sweet and I like the all sharp as
apposed to a lesser DOF choice.
Did you make the board? :D Michael

Yeah, I wish I had those skills, but then I wouldn't have time for photography. I know people though, and sometimes that's good enough. THis one came from a art & craft show. The marbles are 1.25" glass spheres; some are opaque and others various degrees of translucence (which would be very different from shooting billiard balls). In #3 (which is also my favorite of the group), the two side eschelons are translucent (blue and clear) and the center is opaque -- metalicized with colored blotches on it.
