I have these separated into four groups with select photos from each. I also attached the gallery link.

I have photos from Carmel-by-The-Sea, Monterey Historic Races, the Quail event (invite only), Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

I did not get a chance to make it to the aquarium, but another time. Met some really awesome people, and made some killer contacts.

I hope you enjoy! :D

Now those are some car pictures! clap.gif My only complaint is that there's no captions telling what we're looking at. :cry

Say, is that Ahnold and Jay in pics 1 and 2? mwink.gif

    Cheers,

    NICE.

This is why I need to start paying attention to things going on around here. I was wondering what to do with myself last weekend. :D

Wonderful series Nicholas, every one is a winner. I particularly like the perfect use of DOF in the first set. It really minimizes the distraction of the crowds and focuses attention on the cars.clap.gifclap.gif

    These are really great.

Whenever I photograph cars in sun, I get harsh highlights.

The exposures look great, did you have problems with highlights?

talk about some dream machines. WOW.. I would have been drooling with all these amazing cars.

For me the strongest shot is the b&w of the old Jaguar with the people and vingetting framing the car. The car is centered but the frame is filled and it all works very nicely to create a strong dramatic look. thumb.gif

Thanks for the kind replies everyone. Sorry it has taken so long to get back. Just been super busy.

As far as highlights and overexposure, I was using a circular polarizer to help minimize that along with other nasty reflections and haze. Also used it to bring out the color depths in the cars.

I mainly used a Canon 50 1.4 with circular polarizer. For the shots of the 250 California and the F430 Scuderia, I used a 24-70 2.8L with circular polarizer.

The panning shots were done with a Canon 70-200 2.8L with circular polarizer also.

I recommend everyone attach one to every lens they use outdoors. I never shoot outdoors without one.

    Those are all outstanding clap.gif

I haven't had much luck with PL filters, guess maybe I bought a cheap one (it was only like 40bux for the PL and UV).. or maybe bump up the ev + ? as mine always come out dark / over-sat. ne_nau.gif (sorry to be a noob) rolleyes1.gif

    Howdy Nicholas,

What Stunning images, each and every one of them, hard to pick out a
favorite with all these wonderful images.

Great shots and post processing, love the richness of tones/colorsl and the sharpness and crispness of detail.

    Very nicely done.
    Take care,
