Why are all of these so soft and/or out of focus?

Travis - I'll give that a look on #5.

Ben - I can't answer you. # 5 is intentionlly kept soft but the rest are sharp in my galleries. They do look soft here though.

I took a look at the galleries and they seem to all have the same issue there. Very soft.

The last image is hugely soft .... at least in her face. The front portion of her hair is in nice, sharp focus. Is it possible your camera is suffering from a touch of front-focus?

Could it be pbase? I know photobucket really kills image quality.

All but the first could use some fill and a bit more light in her eyes.

I really cannot explain the softness except # 5 which was intentional. On my home screen, from my local drive, the full RAW and jpg look almost too sharp. Maybe it's Pbase, maybe the reduction for web resolution, I just do not know.

It's also possible I have some front focus issues. I'll see if a local camera shop can take a look.
