Hi All
I am looking for a way to make a rule of thirds grid. I have CS4 and Aperture programs.
It would be nice to have a tool that will place a 3 rd's grid over my photos to correct my composition, if needed or when cropping a photo to maintain to correct composition.
If you have a easy way to make a 3 rd's grid you will make me a happy man.
Thanks for your time and help

"In Photoshop, press Command – K (PC: Ctrl-K) to open your Preferences. Click on Guides, Grid & Slices from the list on the left and change the settings for the Grid section as follows: Gridline every 100 percent, Subdivisions 3, and click OK. This creates a grid that divides the image into thirds both horizontally and vertically. When you turn on the grid by pressing Command – ’ (PC: Ctrl – ’(apostrophe)), a rule-of-thirds grid will be superimposed over the image."

You can also use "View - Show - Grid" to turn on (toggle) the gridlines.

I found this to add to your suggestion. Once you have made the grid
if you change the base layer to a floating layer ( layer> new> layer from base layer )
then use the move tool to shift your point of interest under one of the third points.
Then go ahead and crop.
If someone has something to add please post as we all need a little help from now and then.
