With apologies to Thapamd and his Robin and Tuck thread, I just so happened to go to the same area. And just as he purchased a new camera, a Canon 5D MkII - so did I, a Nikon D700. It appears great minds think alike. There are more pics, but here are some that grabbed me in a quick look over.

These are beautiful, crisp, sharp, colorful, well saturated images.

Are you SURE you shot these with a Nikon? rolleyes1.gif

Laughing.gif. Yeah, but there were some canon sorts nearby (I'm certain). I made sure to keep a wide berth! I wouldn't have wanted them to get envious.

Fantastic! Love the mountain goat shots. The hike was pretty tough for me, but I'm sure you guys dig great! :D
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap but memories are priceless.

Thanks thapamd, it's a great place that has seen a lot of wear over the years. Believe it or not, it used to be quite a bit different than it is now. I remember being a kid fishing there and at the numerous tarns over by trico and over Granite mtn. There were many more untrod meadows. Too many big groups head up there these days, many without any mountain etiquette or know how. It's still a very nice place, although, I much prefer late september when the chill is in the air and the blueberries are freezing on their stems and the fog hangs over high and low valleys.

Any of you d700 owners know how to edit RAW with CS2 or do I really need to get CS4? I thought I read that you can do something like change them to dng files, which I know how to do, then edit them.

If I wasn't so lazy I'd actually go up there sometime myself, some amazing scenery! You got quite a diversity of shots there, my favorites are the golden goat, the two goats and the reflection, and the third to last shot with the perfectly calm lake.

Very nice series here Tharhawk. I also really like the shots of the mountain goats. They sure must not be too shy?
    I also like #7 a lot. Beautiful!
You all have some incredible places to visit over there on your side of the mountain.
