We've had some hot days and our furry friends were out looking for water to drink or a way to cool down. Nothing fancy here, but thought I would just share them with you all. Hope you enjoy them.

This one thought it could find some water in our water guage.

This poor squirrel just laid on the fence in the shade panting.

Fun time at the watering hole :D

Oops! Lucky I heard this bird in the bucket before my Golden's went for a drink of water. Birds are always drinking out of the dogs water pail....this one must of slipped off the edge of the bucket. And yes....I slowly poured this bird out. It stayed around till it dried off and then took off :D

Glad to see some more "common" shots posted. I'd hate to think that every image posted has to be "wall-hanger" quality.

The birds were having a blast and yes that bird in the bucket was lucky. My one Golden caught a sparrow long ago and took if for a swim with her in the kiddie pool. Not a good ending....

    Thanks for commenting :D

Great shots, Mary--these are the kinds of shots you have to be lucky to get. I love the one of the squirrel on the fence!

Great series. I love the squirrel and the way you kept the birdfeeder in view that he's eyeballing, but really it's too hot to even bother trying....

Thank you Lauren for you comment :D

That poor squirrel -- he just laid there for such a long time. We even went out to fill the bird dish with fresh cold water just in case it wanted a drink.

I take my camera out every time I take the dogs out to do "their thing". As for the feeders...they sure try to get into those buggers to eat.

I've never seen a squirrel do that. The birds in the dish of water look to be
having a blast. Glad the bird in the water bucket got out safe and sound.
    Thanks for sharing these. thumb.gif

I really like #2 (squirrel), did you do any post to it? it looks tack sharp where it needed to be and the dof is great. And I to like to see 'common' photos as well clap.gif

We must have weird squirrels here rolleyes1.gif I also have a photo of a squirrel sleeping I kept waking it up when I was taking it's photo so I had to be quiet.

    That photo was taken at:

    f5.6
    1/500 sec
    ISO 640
    300mm using my 70-300 IS

Did some levels on it and then ran it through my noiseware plug-in. Changed the opacity of it some. That's all I did.

I like "common" photos too. It lets you see what people like to photograph when they aren't "photographing" :D
