We had a visit from "Aluminum Overcast", the B-17 bomber owned by the Experimental Aircraft Association. They drop in every couple of years while on their summer tour, offering tours and rides. Try as I might, I wasn't able to get a seat on the media flight Monday :-(

She is a beauty isn't she!! I enjoyed your pictures very much. I have seen this old bird a couple of time here in Spokane, WA. Here is a link to some of the pics I took last go around here.

Even better than seeing these old planes is being there when they are around and hearing the old timers exchange stories from when they flew in them. Those moments are priceless!!

I've been in that plane before! Came to a field North of Atlanta a few years ago. They had a cylinder failure so they weren't giving rides that day but it was still a blast to walk through.

Great pics, really neat that you got a WWII gunner in front of it!

Nice shots of a fascinating plane. I've seen the " Alumninum Overcast " on several occasions. A couple of years ago, I paid my bucks and went up for a ride in another famous B-17....The " Nine-O-Nine ". The next day I went back and went up in the B-24 " Witchcraft ". Those were trips I'll never forget. I'll give you a great tip....if you ever go up in one of those things, take a pair of earplugs.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thanks for all the kind words! I love having a place like the Airpower Museum so close to home - in addition to all the neat stuff they operate, they always get these great visitors as well.

Nice pics John !!! I like #1 and #3 the best. I particularly like the head-on feel of #3 with the engines running. thumb.gif
