This is my step-brother and his fiance. We had an awesome time shooting and I'm happy with the results, although I've gone back & critiqued myself (including the tilt frame! I will be conciously working on keeping my camera level and I know that the shadows in #2 need to be touched up in PS). I know they love the photos, but to improve, I'd love some C&C from others:

Overall I think you did okay. Nice clean frames with the exception of #2, which I would just throw away, and #1. I wish you would have posted larger images though.

    Blow by blow.

    1) the background is bit distracting in this.

    2) dappled light is killing the shot.

    3) nice one..nice shadow

    4) nice attempt but the dudes face is kinda geting lost in her dress

    5) nice one

    6) nice one..my favorite

    7) nice hair light but there might be some underexposure noise on the couple. Would like to see touch more fill on them.

Sorry about the image size. I'll know better for next time, still getting used to this message board. Thanks for the input. I'll play around with 1, 4 & 7 and see what I can do. Maybe blurring the background in #1 might help. I also have another of the same setup but not such a close crop so I'll take a look at it as well. And looking at it here, I agree with you on #7, so I'll take another look at the large image and see what can be done. Thanks for the input! :) Much appreciated!

Thank you! That's my fav of the day too. They finally felt really comfortable. Although between shots he was "complaining" how heavy she was! Laughing.gif... (She's like 5'2" and a size 2!)

    Any other C&C?

So the angle is accidential? You really need to work on that. It kills all of them. You have some nice shots but the angle is bad.

    I think you meant angle.ne_nau.gif

I think #3 & #6 are the best of the bunch.

No, the angle was not accidental, I did it on purpose while shooting, but then once I got the images loaded, I realized that I used it in almost every shot. I need to work on balance throughout my shoot between using the angle & using a horizontal landscape. :) Still learning a lot!

For the most part I liked the angles you used. Yeah, you do have to vary angles so all your images don't look the same...I guess I assumed you did that and only showed us images that have angles.

Laughing.gif... that's what I get for saying something! Haha... Not every photo was tilted but the ones that I tended to like are and those are some of the ones I posted. So I don't know if I like them for the tilt or for the other elements in the shot. In all reality, after looking back over my gallery, there's probably a 50/50 ratio of tilt to straight horizons. So a fair amount of both, just my bias coming through I guess. Thanks for the input! :)
