I'm not sure if this works, so would appreciate your thoughts.

I like it, but I'd give up the foreground and some water to gain some detail on that bridge.

    It works for me.

I like the zigzag of the foreground shoreline as it leads my eyes right toward the sunset.

Questions in my mind: would darkening it slightly or adding saturation make the sky more dramatic? What did the sky look like a few minutes later (did it develop the deep reds)?

    Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks, both, for your comments.

I'm pleased the shoreline served its intended purpose, rainbow. I processed two different versions of this image; a darker, more dramatic one and the one you can see. I felt the dramatic version was heading towards surrealism and wanted to keep it looking more natural.

The sky didn't develop into deep reds a few minutes later; the sun slipped behind the band of clouds you can see just above the horizon and darkness reigned without any vibrant colours.

Beautiful warm shades of orange you capture here. Love the smoothness of the entire image. thumb.gif
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap but memories are priceless.
