Any way to offer discounts to selected customers?

Say I do a shoot with someone and want to let them buy the prints or downloads for a discount over the standard price, how do I do that? I was hoping that I could give someone a 'voucher' code to do this but can't see any way of doing that.
I know I can do this by creating a duplicate gallery and giving the person a log in and then have lower prices set in there but that's a real hassle!
