Ok,, well, I got the old point and shoot to see things my way :duel

Here is my entry... Please scour it for anything I may have missed..

All CC Positive or Negative Welcome As Always..

Please keep in mind I am dealing with only 2 megapixels here, so I can't really go much heavier on the processing without degradation.. However, I need to know if you see any important adjustments that I need to make..

The last one is not an HDR, but processed as a PSEUDO HDR

2 Photos Make this capture as I had to add a few more worms.. Does the composite need any further shadow tweaking etc. ?

I personally favor # 1 and #2 - But would like to know which one is most visually appealing to you...:thumb

Thank You.. I always appreciate your time.. :D:bow

Process #1

Final Edit

Ok, here is an edit based on everyone's prior advice.. I tried to strike a balance..:D

#2 for me. #1 feels flat and #3 feels unbalanced. Brilliant idea!

    Visually appealing? KAT, they're worms!!!rolleyes1.gif
JK...great play on the words and themethumb.gif
To make things difficult...I think the color of the worms
looks most realistic in#1, I like the dirt in #2, and the grass in #3
Sorry:D But I do think you have a great idea here!
(I can't say I've ever seen green worms before though)

    I really like your idea.

I really like number two but the can in one.

One is more realistic but it's kinda boring colorwise compared to number two.

How many people have seen green nightcrawlers. Did you ps the color?

    Nice work..

#2 works for me. I have to agree; I've never seen green worms before, but it works. I never knew they sold cans of worms. rolleyes1.gif Cool take on the theme Kat.

I agree with #2 - the ground and the grass look realistic. The worms are green because of the food coloring. mwink.gif

Well you really opened a can of worms. You must have had a lot of fun worm wrangling to keep them contained.
I am having a tough time between 2 and 3. 1 is a bit flat.
I am thinking 3 the grass is good and the can really has good contrast.
Good theme worthy idea. Great work with the P&S at 2mp

Green Nightcrawlers popular with fishermen, catfishing, ice fishing and the like. their bedding mix or food has a nontoxic dye that turns them that color. Glow in the dark stuff

well, at least I'm not the only the only one to never see green worms... Our Texas worms are just regular old color... but they are as big around as your arm :Drolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif

I think I am leaning towrds #2 I like the grass and ground color better in it. The can is nice in 3, but for me, it's not enough to make it better.

#3 fits my style the best, so that is the one I am voting for. #2 second and #1 third. Good interpretation of the theme! :D

Thank you so much everyone for the quick feedback.thumb.gif

Your comments brought a few things to my attention..

I too like the warmer earth tones in the 2nd one, but I like the processing on the can on the first.. There is just something about the cool blue can in the 3rd and the aqua in the 2nd one that do not go well with the green grass. I guess blue and green are too close on the wheel for me..

I do like the slight punch on the can in the 3rd one, so I will try to add some of that effect on to #2....

    #2 it is..clap.gif

Thank you all for your help...rolleyes1.gif

P.S> Chris is correct...!!! These crawlers are now all the rage with fisherman... they even glow in the water.. I picked them up at Walmart for 4 bucks. It is not a photo shop effect, they really look that way.. mwink.gif

You can read about them here

Well off to the boards to see what you guys have posted... Best of Luck..thumb.gif

    Well Miss Kat,

Nice to see you have a working camera again! thumb.gif

Of your images, #1 and #3 have some weird color going on. Colors look dull in #1 and too dark in #3. #2 has the best balance to my eye.

When I saw this shot, my initial reaction was "ewwww....." rolleyes1.gif

But what a great interpretation of the theme!!! clap.gif Nice work!

    Good luck to you. :D

Thank you for the comments and CC......

I posted a final edit and tried to tweak it according to everyone's advice..

It is on the first page with the others.

I hope this one is better.. I attempted to strike nice balance, and I got rid of the aqua on the can as it was driving me up the wall up against that bright green.

As usual, you all are a great help deal.gifD.. Thank you..

Great take on the theme and very nicely executed.

There is a reason that it isn't a good idea to open up a can of worms - the ewwwww factor!!

Definitely upload now and avoid the rush.

You have a really strong entry. Good luck!

Thank you Chris... I took your advice, and you were so right about the green in the worms "out powering" the green grass, so I toned them down..thumb.gif

    Thanks for the help..

Yes, well lets just hope I can pull it off one more time, because until Kerry brought it up the other day on the board, I did not realize the Mega challenge was up again already...eek7.gifhuheek7.gif

I can't believe it is that time again... Pins and needles on what the theme will be....headscratch.gifscratchheadscratch.gif and I can't get her to break with hints either..rolleyes1.gif
