Girls club soccer season starts
<HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #cccccc; COLOR: #cccccc" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->First game today with dark, rainy skies!frown.gif

I took the D2Xs off and put the D700 on the 300mmVR with the 1.7tc. My first foray into auto ISO, and man am I impressed. These were all shot between ISO 1000 and 1800. Never could have gotten any of these shots with the D2Xs.

"What the heck, lets play." says the home coach. We had traveled 90 minutes.

My daughter, Stefanie, loves playing in the rain.

    So, I guess you're not having second-thoughts about the 700 any more, huh?!

    I LOVE the rain in the shots - some serious atmosphere goin' on there!

    I'm still getting the D700 figured out, but the high ISO shots are really impressive.

    They're not as vulnerable as their counterparts.:D Besides I don't see side pockets in those shorts, so there isn't much they can do with their hands. Great catch on this one. It'd be perfect if we could see the goalie.

    EXIF data show 1600, but it's still a beauty.

    The Nikon line is really tempting, but I can't afford to jump ship yet.

    Nice shots. But IMO the shooter and the lens certainly have a lot to do with it. I'm thinking your D2Xs would've done a quite nice job even at those ISOs.

    Gene, thanks for the vote of confidence. I've been shooting youth soccer for 5 years. Rarely do I like to admit that the gear was a big help in my shots. On this dreary day, the gear was a big help. The D2Xs never left my bag.

    Sunny days for games today and tomorrow. The D2Xs is still my choice on the 300mmVR.mwink.gif
