propelled by steam!. Awaiting restoration at the Connecticut Antique Machinery Assoc. Museum. These machines were used compact gravel and asphalt roads in the first half of the 20th century. The chain/winch steering mechanism is interesting. As a youngster I remember seeing rollers like this working on the roads.

    Jack,

Very interesting stuff. You have some really good shots of this old equipment. It's nice to know someone is preserving things like this. Well done.

    Take care,

I bet it was really interesting to see all those. Those little green things in the last photo...are those old mowers? I remember pushing something like that long ago to mow the lawn. I always swore I was being punished for something when I had to push that bugger :D

Thanks for looking Randy. These and some other machines I'll be posting soon are really impressive with regard to size and brute strength.

Awesome machines!!! Love the little power mower next to the roller in the last one. Is this a museum of sorts, or someone's private collection?
