Got up at 4:10 this morning and arrived at my shooting location at Horicon Marsh just after 7:00.

Two minutes later I had this one with the 40D and 100-400L.

A short time later...this one with the 1D MKIIN and 400 DO IS + 1.4tc.

This is one of my favorite birds and you captured them exceedingly well. Glad to see the 40D can keep up with the 1Drolleyes1.gif

    Beautiful shots, Ric!
Good to see that you are still using your 1d mkIIn instead of you new 5D mkII.
It is going to be a while before I can go down that path!:cry

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Ric tell those guys to get a move on down south. Getting the shakes down here from lack off Sandhills. Drove the areas where they like to hang out. Good to see they are starting to get the water on ground in Central CA wont be to much longer.

    Thanks Dan! :D

I find the files from the 40D to be superior to the 1D. Where the 1D shines is speed and focus aquisition.

Two exceptional photos Ric! Both of them are "wall hangers" IMHO.

I'm not sure that the new 5D is going to be my cup of tea. I'm considering letting it and the MKIIN go for the 1D MKIII...for the battery aspect and the same menu structure as my 40D (which I love).
