I debated putting this in the wildlife forum. However, I really love the sky in this shot and since I'm a landscape photographer at heart, I ultimately decided to post it here. Enjoy!

Thanks Adam! The PP was pretty easy...a little curves adjustment and some fill-light and voila! :D

rolleyes1.gif In Alaska, these are the chicken. Plus it was shot at sunrise, so the title seemed appropriate. :D

That's one of the most awesome eagle portraits I've seen. If I saw light like that I would be scrambling to find a good landscape, but it really elevates this shot that much more. Excellent detail and pose as well. Next time you're up in Alasaka shooting the eagles let me know!

Nice color on the background sky and nice expression from the eagle too.

Only thing I'd suggest is cropping a touch off the top and the left so it's a touch tighter and the bird is more off center.

    It's a nice shot.

And yes, I have to agree, this is an amazing eagle portrait. Just wonderful. thumb.gif

Where are you going for bears? Alaska again? I want to do the Katmai bears during the salmon running season some year. nod.gif

    /Envious.

Although I'd need the Nikon equivalent if anybody's got a spare/unwanted one they're willing to sell for a fraction of the price they cost new.
