Rainy weekend in Acadia

I took my son camping in Acadia National Park this past weekend. Timing could have been better, since Hurricane Bill was moving up the coast. It rained three out of the four nights, but the days were decent enough for the hiking we did.
The hurricane, though way off the coast, produced 20 foot waves. One such wave struck 20 people at Thunder Hole, sweeping three out to sea. Two (a man and a 12 y/o boy) were rescued by the Coast Guard. Tragically, a 7 year old girl was killed.
The images: Days were for hiking (and fishing on Saturday), late afternoon was for shooting. My son made the perfect photography assistant.
1. Saturday: A foggy start to a long ugly day fishing. It was like fishing in the middle of a Stephen King novel: Fog, scary fish, blood ...
2. When we got back we were surprised to find that the fog was isolated. This is from Cadillac Mountain. The was fog literally rolling over the islands.
3. Dusk on the coast. Very foggy.
4. And in horizontal …
5. More fog
6. Sunday: Dusk near Thunder Hole. The wave struck much earlier in the day, but hours later the Rangers were still out in force keeping people from climbing down on the rocks.
This was shot just off the road. I was with a group of photographers who were shooting away at the huge breakers.

9. Monday: Eagle Lake
10. Eagle Lake: I borrowed a friend's old D70 so I could play in IR.
Hope you enjoy the set.
For those of you heading to Acadia with DGrin, I hope you have better weather! And be careful at Thunder Hole!

Thanks Don,
I'm still working on post processing on some of these. #6, 7 and 8 were shot just after sunset. Blue dominated. I will try pulling it back a bit.

Thanks Mahesh ... As I mentioned above, I'm still tweaking some of these (and others not yet posted).
