Helping Ben and Jeff
Actually, I have been looking for some Anhinga babies I know I should have, and I found other goodies that I think are better than I already posted. I like this because of the feather. I tried a vertical crop. Above.
Below, I thought this was a baby because if its small size compared to another one there at the time. These are not for my portfolio, the one above is. I just wanted to show and ask if you all think this is a baby, or just very small. The coloring is normal.
This is a further back shot, maybe you could tell a bit about size from this, but I doubt it. Remember, I do not consider these shots for my portfolio, just the top one.
This guy was out there at the same time. I didn't notice the aligator til later.
But the NH was much bigger than the one above.
This was only last Friday, it seems forever ago. I think it was Friday. I have so many photographs that end up not being shown, or worked up, like the first one: I like that one. Am I wrong there? If there is a problem, it is in the processing, of which there is not much, but I am trying to get rid of color shifts.
When I took that photo of the heron with the feather, preening, well, I thought it was good, was very excited, and then forgot about it. :dunno

Thanks if you look.
Double thanks if you comment.
On the vert crop?? OK?? (the first one)
The other NH shots, are two of those a baby? Do you think?
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

This is the redux of the gator and the Night Heron, I think there is still a color cast on this one, but I am through with it for the night. I will say the sharpness came up a whole bunch. That was a surprise!
I just "curved both of these, again".

I think this second effort at post processing is much better Ginger. Very nice.

I really appreciate your stopping to look at my photos and to comment.
Thank you so much, especially after the time I put in last night on those two shots, I think it was worth it. The one is with my "personal favorites".
I really appreciate the comments.

And Andy, thank you for telling me to adjust the color in RAW. I knew RAW had to be good for something. I found out that it is good for a lot of things. I had been afraid to use it except for the exposure compensation. I am glad I had the book Camera Raw, my source for further knowledge last night.
again, Nir, thanks,
Patfinder, thanks,
and Jeff thanks

Either way, I agree with you that the curve of the feather makes the shot. Very nice!
The feather is a nice touch, really makes the shot. The second one is an adult the young one's look like this. Howard
I wonder where my birds kept their young. If there is a young adult there, then there were probably babies, at one point. They DO like their privacy.
Thanks for stopping and commenting.
And the show and tell, much appreciated,
ginger
Actually this is hardly a baby, it's about the same size as an adult. To be honest I used to think it was a different species until I bought a book on local birds but don't tell anyone :. I've never seen really young ones.
