Clicking on thumbnail displaying smaller sizes than when originally uploaded

Not sure when this started as I haven't been around for awhile but when I upload a new image to a gallery I specify ~720 pixels on the long side. Up until I checked tonite that size (for horizontals) would be displayed when I clicked on the thumbnail. (Verticals were never displayed larger than 600 on the long when the thumb was clicked...for some reason). However, now when I click on a horizontal thumb the image is displayed at 600 pixels, click on that size and I get the 720 one....an extra step to get to the larger size. I have not changed any settings, same resolution on the monitor, etc. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance.

We would need to have a link to a gallery with this issue to offer any concrete diagnosis. If you are using the Smugmug viewing style, it automatically sizes images based on your browser window size. Make the window larger and you get bigger images, make it small and you get smaller images. It does this to avoid horizontal scrolling in small windows and to give you the largest image possible in large windows. Did you try resizing your browser window? If that's not it, please post a link.

Thanks. Actually I just found a thread posted a couple of weeks ago in which someone was having the same problem I am. Apparently this is happening with images smaller than 800 pixels. To test this I uploaded an image that is 810 pixels on the long side and, sure enough, if I click on its thumb it is displayed at 810 pixels.

As I said before, if you don't post a link with your question, we can only guess.

Sorry. I thought that since I wasn't the only one it was a known problem.

This might be working as Smugmug intended. The Smugmug view generally displays standard sizes: S, M, L, XL, X2, X3. When I look at this gallery http://mlwphoto.smugmug.com/IMAGES-OF-WASHINGTON-STATE/New-Images-Gallery/7980155_waEY4#599868454_pc64M, it is displaying the largest standard size image that it can (in fact, it's displaying the largest standard size image that there is).

If you think it's supposed to be displaying the original (instead of a standard size) when the original will fit, then I'd suggest you file a bug in the bug reporting forum and see if Smugmug agrees.

Thanks. I'll file a report. In the past the original size was displayed when I clicked on the thumb rather than a standard size.
