Another hawker dragonfly visited yesterday.
All natural light/fill flash shots except #5 (full flash).

    these are awesome..
    I have a canon macro lens and I don't know why I can't get these kinda shots without having that blur..
    any setting help would be so much appreciated!

    Not sure quite what you mean by blur- do you mean narrow DOF effects or do you mean problems with camera shake/ subject motion ?

    I read your macro training.. ;0) it was my Ap settings.. need to go higher not lower..

    As always, stunning detail.


    Ladykassie, no dork moment. Something us macro enthusiasts probably all do at some point. We try to use a nice big aperture to speed up shutter times in order to reduce motion blurring and in the process decrease DoF :)

    It's all a learning curve and here is one of the best places to learn :)
