I used to kill flies by trapping them between window panes and then using a Rollei E36RE flash directly against one of the panes of glass, After 2-3 flashes the flies would drop dead.
I no longer do this but it demonstrated the destructive power of the flash to me.

Yeah, it was pretty much a one-time-deal. I was playing with flash locations when she turned to sniff where I had just placed it.

My guess is alvareznieves is French due to the link in the sig-line is a .fr extension. My other guess is that English isn't the native language of Alvarez, but what I'm gathering from the post is that the thread title I chose is a bit confusing as to what I was trying to portray being that English isn't the easiest of languages. Confusion as to whether I was asking for information, giving information, or just having fun.
