D90 + Sigma 70-200/2.8.
With the Kenko UV the images get soft/oof. Without they are as sharp as can be expected.

Anyone with similar experiences?

I am not familiar with Kenko filters, but if you are noticing a deficiency I suggest you purchase a different filter type. I have had very good experiences with the Hoya HMC filters.

I agree with Ziggy. I also use Hoya HMC filters on four different lenses, and I have had no problems at all.
