Or Possum, as we knew him best.

May he rest in peace.

Thank you. I like to capture character when I can. He didn't like, nor believe in photos. I wish I could tell you of the stories behind the photos, but some things are really better left up to the imagination.

Such an expressive, story filled face!

Re: #1: I really liked the package in the front pocket: price tag, "everyday" "price". A nice added feature to a great expression on an already expressive face.

I was going to comment about having images with a more dramatic lighting situation, but then saw #3. Do you have something of #3 that's not quite as contrasty? I thought the darker side of his face went a little too far to black, a little too soon.

Nice series, and a nice tribute to someone you obviously felt something for. Well done.

Thanks. he died while walking across the yard to his truck and boat before a catfishing trip. Just sudden death and dead before he hit the ground. We buried him the same way- in new overalls that he'd bought, never wore, and set aside for the occasion. Had his chewing tobacco and a flask of his best shine in his chest pocket, along with a buckeye ball for good luck. They didn't know where his pocket knife landed so I gave him mine (since it was the same make/model). They found his a few weeks later and I ended up with it so that I consider it more than fair.

Great pix, glad you have the memories. The knife swap story is wonderful.

I like them pretty much in the order posted, #1 is my fave; his smile and whole expression is so engaging. I agree that #3 feels a bit dark.

Well I don't know, but I do like to think that I did my best, anyway.

    Thanks.
