I'm really NOT happy, I contacted smugmug help with a detailed email
of my problem & that I need help with setting up my GoDaddy account
and to set up my email to run with my custom domain (I did mention I have read the forum & instructions but still struggling)

all I got was a link to
http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/SmugMug/GoDaddy+CNAME+Setup
which I have already read!!!!

and was told to follow that but contact if I had any problems, yes I do have a problem, I do not understand these instructions...I have no idea about CNAME/Name Server or DNS.

very frustrating!!

Ouch, I'm so sorry you are so angry! I'm sure Our email said to write us, and give us the access to your account so we can do it for you. We've done this for anyone that asks :D
If you are stuck, send us your domain host UserID and set the password
to something temporary like SmugTemp123. I will log in and make the
changes or check the settings for you. When I am done you can reset the
    password.

    1. the name of your domain registrar
    2. login name to your domain
    3. change the password for your domain to smugtemp{insert_4_random_digits}

Once we have made the changes, we will let you know so that you could
    change your password back.

Send email ATTN: Andy to the help desk, I'll do it myself asap, Nick.

We sent this all in a help mail to you at 11:52pm ET last night. It was from Support Hero RichW.
I'm standing by to help you, Nick - but I can't till you give us the info we need :D

EDIT! we have you info (but it was confusing, sorry Nick - your password didn't look like a password, and it didn't say 'password' so we were unclear.

Setting you up right now, Nick!

    Andy thanks,
but I posted the same question last night, Docwalker (think thats the name)!! replied saying to send smumug help an email (which I did, a detailed email with all login details etc) but then got a reply this morning with a general email saying to read the instructions on how to do it! which I pointed out I have done so but still needed help! so you can see my frustration!!

I think I have managed to sort it myself now though!!
all seems fine! thanks for the help!!

We couldn't see your acct name and password, it was not clear.

    most send it like this:

    godaddy account name: xxxxxxxx
    password: xxxxxxxxx

so we were stumped a bit.

All sorted now, you're all set.

My account is all set up with GoDaddy
but noticed the domain www.nickhaigh.net is very temperamental
sometimes it goes to a white page saying 'This page cannot be displayed'
I never got this when I had the domain at 1&1 Internet.
you then have to refresh the page a couple of times before it
    loads the page.

does anyone know why this happens??

Your site is coming up just fine here, Nick. I'd call Godaddy and ask?

Your site is set up perfectly as far as I can tell.

Thanks Andy, think i'll do that!
It's temperamental...so it's fine one minute then get a white page (unable to load) the next.

    never happened before! ne_nau.gif
