Some of my male friends mainly by seaside. Would love some professional opinions.
Thanks.

    Thanks.

Not a pro by a very long stretch--we are talking miles here, but I'm liking these shots.

    The lighting is fantastic.

    1. I like the composition a whole lot. Digging the water and the shades.

    2. Also like this shot, although this guy's canine's really stand out--maybe that's on purpose though from reading your signature line.

    3. My favorite shot of the group. I like it in b&w and the selective coloring of the cigar--although I think I'm in the minority here in liking anything in selective coloring.

    4. Fun shot.

    5. Doesn't really go with the rest of the series but I still like it. Nice DOF and colors.

    6. Second favorite. I like the use of water, the look on his face--wish there was a little less shade in his face.

Love them. These are a lot of fun, so much energy, and I like the processing.

Nice shots. Like the energy and fun in them. I like the first three best (1/3/2). I didn't really notice the selective color first time through, so I think it worked well in that regard.

On 4, the main subject was too OOF for me.
I like 5 a lot. I think the crop feels off (which probably means it is genius).
6 is really cool, I just don't like the facial expression. If some water was closer to his eye I think that would have worked, but not as it sits.

    Certainly not a professional opinion....

What a great job on these!!!clap.gifclap.gifclap.gif
I would liked to have seen the subject moved over just a bit(not cropped so tight). But WOW.

Wow. Some very powerful shots in here. Love the reflection in #1. Were you using strobe or are they just heavily processed to look that way?

I just LOVE the first two. Great expressions and lighting -- wow!

I too would love to know the lighting situation on these. Great job.

These are just awesome. The light and PP is amazing on all of the shots.

Can you enlighten us to how you set this up?

    hey all,
Thanks for the greatly supporting comments.
Some asked for the shooting/lighting situation on these photos, well, I'll have to say its all in the post processing. There's not even a fill light on them (which I always use, but these photos were shot on burst mode and flash doesn't work in that mode). So it was a very sunny day on the beach, only the model and a camera with nothing else.

the post is rather a long procedure to explain, but I normally use a couple of raw edits ontop on each other with masks, one of them is for the luminosity with lots of fill light and darkened blacks.

I don't know if that makes sense or not, but I don't mind answering any questions. Thanks again. :)
