Biltmore Estate - Asheville, NC

I took these shots last May after graduating. Went to see the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC with my family. This mansion was once owned by the Vanderbilt family and is one of largest estate's of the time. It is open to the public pretty much 24/7 with tours and everything. The only thing that sucks is you aren't allowed to take pictures inside the mansion. But I wanted to share some shots from the trip. Took these with my Olympus before I knew anything about the manual settings. I plan to do some processing on these, but I wanted to post them first to show the originals.

I know this one is soft and fuzzy, but I love it for some reason. It's a very old wine cellar, but it's behind gated bars (hence the black border along the sides)

C&C welcome. Thanks for looking.

This is one place that I must go to - thank you for posting them anymore in the gallery?

I have been 3 times...my favorite time to go is Christmas. They go all out in decorating and have Christmas trees all over. And they always have a gingerbread house model made of the Mansion..different every year. I definitely recommend going.

As for the gallery there are more..just some views from the front of the house which bug me because there are people walking all over and it kind of distracts, more shots of flowers from the greenhouse, and some from the winery and horses on the property. The rest are pictures of my family from the visit, some pictures I snapped along the drive from my move from NC to AZ, and some random pictures of my friend and her pup :) You are welcome to take a look..it's just photobucket so nothing spectacular, but here is the link: http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd196/sexy6chick/Biltmore/

Pics start at the bottom of page 1.

Oh..and I have to ask, is that Nick Lachey in your avatar? :)

Very nice! Did you ever go when the azaleas were in bloom - late April?? The lady across the street from me encouraged me to go last year - she gave me a free pass thumb.gif The blooms were incredible. I have a few snaps posted here - Biltmore Gardens

No I don't think I have been there in April..the previous times I was there I was much younger. I will have to plan a trip back around that time. They look lovely!

I live about 10 miles from the estate and one of the best deals out there is to get a season pass for Biltmore. It allows you entry for an entire year. This allows you to photograph this amazing place and grounds during every season! clap.gif

Yea I would definitely do that if I was still living in NC but for anyone who is in NC it's a great place and I would recommend that if you plan on going back or on a regular basisthumb.gif
