Hot weather and OC fires (correction: LA fires:-) made for some atypical sunsets. Not competing with the prior ones (or Gary's:) , it still got enough to drag my sorry arse out of the house and snap a few from my standard issue "sunset point".
#1: LiveView is a tremendous help when shooting TS lens. So is tripod when bracketing :-) (shown: 5D2 + TS 24mm + Manfrotto NG-E2 + Acratech V2)
#2: Smoke and clouds created some nice color effects in the skies:
#3: Some were taken handlheld (50D + 70-200/2.8 IS USM):
#4: Who said long lens is for portraits only? ;-)
#5: Got some "pink god rays"? ;-)
#6: Never leave when the sun is down: the show typically just about to begin:
#7: Fire in the sky:
#8: And of course, my "signature" barbed wire fence shot: :rofl
Images processed in Bridge/ACR/PS. Some are multiimage composites (typically couple of layers and gradiented mask), some are just single images tweaked in ACR

BTW, fires are in LA County.
Cuong
I never get sick of sunsets (sunrises ain't to shabby either )...
Nice , did you use a GND filter?, you kept a lot of foreground.
And thanks for watching!
No, no GND fiter. I tried them at some point in time, but decided they are no match to what I can do in post. Just single image (or couple of bracketed frames) processed in ACR (gradient brush is the key) and then blended in PS if need be...
wish I knew how to do all that stuff.......
Nice shots, I like the 2nd, nice clouds, enough distance to the sun to really show the hills. #7 is real nice too.
