Whitewater Kayaking in Norway
Hey!
Just got back from a nice long trip to Norway. Thought I'd share a few pics of the amazing boating there... Hope you enjoy.
1
The upper Juri - a big slide at the start
2
3
Ulla - an amazing river with this 4m waterfall
4
Ulla
5
Surtbytta - a river we found at the top of the valley when everything else was high
6
Ostri - short and sweet run on this beauty
7
Party time on the Upper Bovre (photo by Eddie)
8
Amazing sunsets
9
Some big slide / drops
10
Some nice smaller drops too
11
Flying in the woods
12
Chilling at the camp
13
Lovely double drop way up north
14
A great day on the Forra, a river in a deep almost inescapable gorge, with this drop being the highlight.
15
Skarmodalselva - in Sweden
16
More mad sunsets
17
The Raundalselva Playrun, nr. Voss.
18
More playrun - nr. Voss.
19
And some more - nr. Voss.
20
Beautiful Brandseth. This river is simply amazing. Steep drops and slides all the way to the bottom
21
And again
22
Different perspectives at Moneydrop - a waterfall near Voss.
23
Heading down - Jordalselva. This is an awesome 10m waterfall also near Voss.
24
Kittelbreaker (photo by Eddie) - also near Voss
25
And finally Nosebreaker - and again near Voss... See the pattern with Voss and steep rivers / waterfalls
Cheers,
Matt

What gear were you using here?
http://clearwaterphotography.smugmug.com/
I have a Nikon D200. Most of the shots were taken with a 18-200 lens. I have a Watershed dry bag that has a bit of camping carry mat inside. I put my camera in there along with a small towel, seal it up, put it in the back of my kayak and clip it in.
Then when I get out for photos I take my helmet off, dry my hands and face, camera out and shoot away...
The Watershed dry back is far from as solid as a Peli case but to fit a D200 in it you'd need a massive Peli case that would need to be put between your legs when paddling which isn't all that safe.
So far so good!
