Here's a couple of guys I ran into down by the pond this afternoon.

Cool shots!! Something took a bite out of that second guy's wing... it's clear enough that you can almost see bite marks! rolleyes1.gifI also like the shadow on the second one. His front wings look a little fuzzy though.

Some people are like slinkies... not really good for anything, but it's still fun to watch them tumble down the stairs.:rofl

He was actually opening and closing his wings through 90 degrees from a totally vertical position to one horizontal with the blade of grass he was sitting on. Those front wings are actually angled up at the camera and, I guess, out of the DOF.

It's tough when the subject fidgets! :D

Yeah, that does complicate things a little! It's still a great shot, the fuzzy wings made me focus to the body and the shadow (which I still think is really cool)

Ya know, I've been trying to catch a dragonfly for 4 or 5 years now. Way back when, there was talk of a dragonfly being provided by Sony for shooting (this is a bit of an old inside joke...sorry). Still, 4 years later, and no dragon fly!

Yours are lovely, and i must say I have never seen one with solid, dark wings before.

I really like the composition & color of the 1st one.
