What's changed? Very or "interrupted" uploading to gallery

I've been uploading material to Smugmug via Macdaddy for months with no problems. In the last week however I seem to be getting regular "Network interruption" errors in Macdaddy. Sometimes a few images will upload, sometimes nothing. I've been through a number of variations and tests and it seems to point either the app or something on the Smugmug end of things causing the interruptions.

Anyone have any clue what might be happening?

Thank you.

Hey Andy, just now. I've reverted to the web browser uploader which seems to work just fine. Maybe it's a Macdaddy issue.

    I agree with that
I can't find a reason for the problem. I'm using the latest version of Macdaddy (3.0.3) and I"m running Snow Leopard on my Mac. And this occurred before the Snow Leopard update so I think it's safe to assume it's not the system update.

    Any other ideas?

This is happening to me, too- the "network interruption" error. My internet is working just fine. This just started happening after I upgraded to Snow Leopard so I thought that was the issue. It is happening on both my Macs running snow leopard. Any word?

Ah. Snow Leopard, OK. We're still investigating and may need to make some updates to MacDaddy, not sure.

For now, use our Simple Uploader, thanks. You'll want to subscribe to our Release Notes blog, so that you don't miss a single update from SmugMug :)http://blogs.smugmug.com/release-notes/ at the bottom, there's a link for Entries (RSS) - put that in your favorite feed reader.

Just experienced "Service Interrupted" myself during upload.
I launched a large upload (459 images) about 1 1/2 hours ago using the Send To SmugMug link built into PSE 7.0. The Service Interrupted error message popped up after 75 imageds uploaded (I hope they uploaded...not sure yet).

I am having problems uploading in both IE8 and Picassa right now, just an FYI. I'll try again in the am.

Papajay, that's going to be the slowest & least reliable upload method (via PSE7). Use our robust new simple uploader for fastest uploading.

OK, trying it now. I selected the images in PSE7 "organizer", then left-clicked one of them to drag the entire selection to the uploader screen in Smug.

1.) Seems to be working, but please confirm that's the correct procedure to use...I literally "guessed" and crossed my fingers.

2.) Why is the Send to SmugMug functionality already integrated into PSE7 not the best approach? Seems like it should be.

    "Slowest"? why?
    "Least reliable"? why?

    Just curious.

Because the new uploader we built is faster and more reliable and more robust thumb.gif

Well, after the changes over the last few weeks I get increasing network errors (networkConnectionLost) when using Jeffery Friedl's 'Export to Smugmug' plugin for Lightroom. Don't know what changed, but if I have to export from Lightroom to disk then upload to Smugmug using Smugmug's new uploader that adds a LOT of time and disk space usage for me. And that pretty much means I will be looking for another option for my website other than Smugmug. Bummer. Hope that's not the case...

I'm having similar upload problems all of a sudden, as well.

In each of three recent galleries, I've had MULTIPLE "proccesing image" boxes. ne_nau.gif

I'm doing nothing different. I hope this gets fixed REAL soon.

I don't have the time to replace twenty to forty shots per gallery.

Hey knip, everything's working fine here at Smuggy right now.

Can you send us a traceroute, from you to us, so we can look at your connection? write our Support Heroes and we'll have a look.

Any idea as to why the Lightroom plugin won't connect? any other reports of errors with this?

I'm also having a lot of trouble uploading with the Friedl Lightroom plug-in over the last couple of days. Finally had to give up on it and use the Java web interface, but I much prefer being able to upload directly from Lightroom.

Me issues with iPhoto uploaded and macdaddy
I'm having the exact same issue since upgrading to snow leopard. My laptop stll has leopard 10.5 and I had no issues uploading from there but have been trying for about 12 hours to upload 20 images from my desktop to no avail. It's definitely related to snow leopard. I will try the simple uploader but I hate having to export out of iPhoto to resize prior to uploading to smugmug.

Did you check to get the latest version? And last night, we had a brief period of uploading trouble, sorry.
