interrupted uploads and slow slideshows

I have been having interrupted uploads and generally slow slideshow views of my site. http://www.davidmphoto.smugmug.com

I have a fast cable modem connnection here in the metro DC area (east coast).

I use Omar Shahine's "Send to Smugmug" utility. When that fails I attempt to use the standard Java web based simple uploader.

However, when I have problems both uploaders tend to fail.

I tend to use the Safari browser (it supports color calibration profiles) for viewing my photo's and slideshows.

Currently slideshows are running fine (8PM eastcoast time). I have not tried an upload.

I upload or visit my site everyday. I would guess that I have performance issues one out of every 5 days or so. It does not seem to be tied to any specific gallery on my site.

Getting lots of "failed" on the send to smugmug uploads on this end....

Uploading (verifying), replacing, and thumbnail cropping keeps timing out also. There are definitely problems tonight.

Slideshow behaving slowing for me too. 5:58pm, Sept 7, California.

I am using the latest uploader.

The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Im using the send it to smugmug app...and Im having this problem also.
