Baiting Honeybees

I put corn syrup down on some pumpkin petals so the ladies would let me get close. All images taken hand held (using the Left Hand Brace Technique) at around three time life size and F13 with a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens and a 40D. An MT-24EX with a set of home made diffusers was used as the light source (set to -1 FEC). All images are single frames (no stacking).

Great shots, and I really appreciate both the information on how you shot them and the link to your tip about bracing. I had tried (unsuccessfully) holding flowers in my left hand, but I had not been smart enough to brace the lens on the same hand. I'll practice that.
