    Whoa. I was not really familiar with Adams’ work, so I appreciate this posting. These are powerful images. My first reaction is surprise at how different the people look, the effect of seeing their human condition, yet the photos are beautiful. It makes for a striking contrast.
    They make me slightly uncomfortable with such odd posing and expressions, but that’s probably as much my own expectations as it is their look. You can tell the photographer has respect for them, but it doesn’t lessen the impact. These are tremendous photos and very moving, and I’m glad to know of his work.
