Does this work? I shot down the opening but that didn't look come out very interesting. I opted to keep the DOF as deep as possible to keep the object identifiable.

Neat! This seems like one of those cases where I think you have something interesting there, but you can't quite get the right 'take' on it.

Can you get a shot that is partially looking down the opening, but you can also see the outside of it spiraling around the opening?

My plan D (or is it up to M now), is titled, "100 days of beautiful sunny weather"

Do you think this works better?

I like the ram's horn better, but I agree that maybe you need to find a way to make it shout 'perspective' more? Some funky way to turn it, view it?

And hey, thanks for the help in The Refinery thread. I am also working on my own plan M!

I also think I like the horn - it is more effective at grabbing my attention. Both cool shots though!

Thanks for the feedback. This angle isn't quite right, and the focus is a bit soft (I was holding the horn manually over a 15 second exposure) and the edge of the table enters in the background improperly, but do you still get the ram's horn from this while looking down the opening at the same time?

It is a beauty, and sounds wonderful. My then-6-year-old picked out because she could blow it well. Thanks.

This is fabulous, Andrew. One half (right) is telling us what we are looking at in the other half (left).

I'll let her know her crop got a vote...she'll be thrilled. I like it as well, but knowing what it is a lot harder to determine and makes it more abstract and less of a perspective on an object, I think.... Could have used the same object in use for sound, too...
