Yesterday I blew out the highlights on several shots...not today! I was in portrait orientation so this shot is full frame width wise.

    Very nice captures Ric thumb.gif

I probably would have clipped off a wingtip and the head in the reflection.:D

Those look wonderful. I was fighting the clipped highlights today as well. Glad to see you had success.

Rotated crop to align the reflection with the bird. Warmed and brightened a bit too.

" I blew out the highlights on several shots"

Sucks when that happens! I lost my eyecup for my Mk IIn, so I've been shooting with my 10D this weekend!

Like what you did on the repost of the Great Egret!

Super shots Ric .... For me one of the toughest things to shoot is a white bird on a sunny day. You done good!

I like the cleaned up look in the repost too!

I went minus 1 on exposure compensation (I rarely go past -1/3).

    Two good captures Ric. thumb.gif

IT cn be exremely tough to keep the highlights on those egret captures. I had some harsh light up at the Alligator Farm this year and I had to adjust the EV up to minus one and 2/3rd of a stop on some of my captures.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
