I have really been struggling to realize my visions. I think I finally have one that might work.

Through a Glass Darkly

What a great idea; the only problem I see with yours is that it's rather light…

…that is to say there's rather a lot of light, considering the title. I would have thought darker surround and background; think more "darkly" and have the subject lit or highlighted with a snoot against a dark background. The impression I get is "Through A Glass…" but I'm struggling for the "…Darkly".

    Great idea though… thumb.gif

    Thanks for your comments, Wil!

…that's more like it. How about more liquid in the glass? I think you have 5 images of your subject in the picture… …and the dark on the left on the glass hides the shape of the glass (filling the glass might prevent that)

I wonder if it can be simplified?

Some of the light on the left (bands of light on the book) are a bit distracting…

    …just a few ideas!

I see what you mean about the glass disappearing. I added a little more liquid. The trouble there is that it starts to hide the bottle, so I moved the glass back a bit. I think that takes away a little from the "Through a Glass".

And it is a bit darker. I diffused (toilet paper) the bottom of the light source (flashlight) to reduce the banding on the book. A real high tech effort here. :D

I might try a different glass tomorrow - see what effect that has on the overall composition. It is fun to explore one subject in detail!

I'm torn because one of the most interesting spots in the first image is the little space at the top of the wine glass' stem where you have the crisp image of the bottles. That is barely there in the second and almost completely gone in the third.

Clever use of the flash light. The spider-web pattern it is casting is very interesting. Like it!

I love the reflections in #1!!! The one in the stem of the glass fascinates me. Have you tried a crop to bring that out more?

I like #6 and #7, however I don't quite get the idea of the image...

What about having a person on the other side of the half full(empty) glass headscratch.gif

I'm thinking you should go back to the first, and come up with a different title. On the first one, you have a wonderful image in the top of the stem, and when I look at a second time, there is this interesting 'face' formed by the pages of the book (eyes) and something, perhaps the bottle (nose), with a wry smile from the liquid.

Thanks for your comments, Tatiana, Andrew, and Linda.

Tatiana, the title was a verse from the Bible (New testament, but I can't quote chapter and verse) - "Now we see through a glass darkly. Then we will see face to face." Maybe the reference is too obscure.

New title - Another Saturday Night. (Fits right in with July's theme rolleyes1.gif )

This is a different take on a through a glass perspective.

Here is a completely different idea (a different perspective of sound).
