The black one is a about 9 months old female and the white one is at least 3 years old huge white male. Recently the kitten has taken to just pestering the white one, who seems to put up with it quite a bit.

That's a brilliant idea, but for my taste there's way too much unsharpmasking!

    Great concept though! thumb.gif

PS: Have you thought of cropping it to a circle???

I think I need to blend the unsharp. The black cat is okay (maybe a bit heavy), but the white one's nose is one place that needs no mask at all. w/o sharpening at all, the image looks more like:

    Thanks.

That's the perfect title for this shot.

Now you only need a white eye on the black cat and vice versa!

    Thanks for sharing.

Like very much what you got going here. Neat title to fit. But dang Andrew
it looks like a miss for sharp altogether. Got sharp straight out of the camera or
is just my monitor thats furring up things. ne_nau.gif:D

    Andrew,

This is such a good approach. Were it a tad sharper out of the camera it would be teriffic.....even then, I still like this one very much.

I like how you have this photo set up. Did you crop in? Wonder what a bw version would look like????

Yeah this about 800x800 pixels out of the 25M on the 5Dmk2. These cats are very skittish, so I had a friends' borrowed tamron 2x on my 70-200 2.8L and hand-held w/ the IS and my not so stable hands. I felt any more setup would have sent them running (at least the black one). I knew going in that the sharpness would be poor, even at 1/640s. They seem to be sharing the space more, so perhaps some other day, I'll get a tripod opportunity.

    Howdy Andrew,

Brought a smile to my face, good looking Mousers,

Well seen, captured, and definitely very well titled.

    Andrew,

As Craig said, well seen image. I like the B&W version best. Perfect title.

Thank you all. I think I shot about 120 frames whle the black one kept moving around, and came up with about 3 that were worth keeping around.

The bw one looks good Andrew thumb.gif

As for a tripod -- do the string and washer till you buy one -- it works :D

I have a very nice tripod, I just figured that the black one would bold as soon as I came out with just the camera, and figured setting up the tripod would be even more intimidating, even though I was about 12 feet away. Maybe next time now that they are used to the sound of the camera....

It does take animals awhile to get use to the camera. My one dog will pose for it while the other will turn her head -- but with a flash -- they both run.

They'll get use to it soon -- looking forward to seeing the next one :D
