Good... Bad?

I do not know the kid so I was careful to not get his face in the picture, but I really thought that it would make a nice shot.

Not sure if it belongs here or in the street photography area...

Now that looks like fun, but I bet it was cold :D

I like how you cropped it. Sometimes you don't need the face in the photo and with this the focus is on the water hitting his neck -- so it works good.

    Thanks for the reply!

This is actually not a crop, it's the full image. I framed it like that when I took the shot.

    Thanks Andrew.

I was actually goofing off and taking pictures of one of the many water streams coming from the fountain when that kid got under an adjacent stream and got me all wet. That's when I turned around and snapped that shot.

Love the water streams as well. Water in motion is fascinating in the shapes that it forms, and how colors come through.

    Hopefully your gear is fine...

Yup. Gear was just fine. It was my back that got wet.

This is the shot as it came from the camera.

Is the enhancement around the splash from exposure, unsharp, or something else? The final version looks to have a lot more water action than the SOOC.

I actually did three different versions (plus the original), all in LR. I used the selective exposure tool a bit and an unsharp mask then applied some colour effects.

All in all, I probably have less than five minutes total work in this.
Here is a composite I just made a few minutes ago so you can see all the versions in one image. Not sure which one I like best.

It would probably be a good idea to go in PS and work on the loss of detail that exist in parts of the water stream.

Thanks. I think you went the right route on the original version. Love the little brush in LR....

I still have no clue which one I like the best.
The one right below the original in the composite shot has the least amount of changes, and I tend to like that one the most. For now.

Top left is the one I like the best -- the blue in the boys shirt pops out good. The photo right below it shows more water off the boys head for some reason headscratch.gif

You've captured the water being heavy and therapeutic. thumb.gif I bet it would feel wonderful on a tired neck like mine.

Top left is straight out of the cam, virtually no adjustments other than a bit of vibrance added in LR.
