I received the following notification five times in the course of twelve hours (15:37, 15:40, 16:51, 20:06, 03:44) but I can't find any comment.

Is the user or am I doing something wrong? I'm still pushing my site, and comments are gems.

Lucky you! A fan commented on a photo in your Vienna gallery. Click this link to view the comment: http://jlbarton.smugmug.com/Landscapes/Vienna/7986304_3kMN8#519034470_pSWDY-L-LB

Thanks for any advice
Jerry Barton, Vienna

If you click the close button above the picture then you can see the comments. I see 5 new comments, plus one from April 24th.

Thanks - I found the comments. [Your hint about April 24th helped]

The problem wasn't the 'close button', but that the link is opening the gallery (at least for me) - not the specific picture, and since the commented picture is the 17th in the gallery, I had to browse through the gallery to find it.

I think that there is a list of recent comments somewhere in your control panel, that should take you directly to the relevant photo...

Good thought, PB. Yes, under the "Stats" tab in the control panel.

Guys, our comment email got changed ahead of a new feature being released. Soon, the lightbox view will have a way for you to see comments. Sorry about the confusion!

Hmm, that's odd... It took me straight to it.

If you use RSS, I found a trick someone else posted on dgrin that's real handy. You can subscribe to
    http://YOURDOMAIN/hack/feed.mg?Type=usercomments&Data=YOURSMUGUSERID&format=rss200

Much more useful informatin than the email. You see the commenter's name, the rating they gave, the comment, and a thumbnail of the image.

If you click the link in Firefox it takes you directly to the photo. If you click the link in IE, it takes you to the first photo of the gallery. This appears to be an issue introduced with NiceNames, as it works fine in IE if you were to replace the NiceName with the old 'gallery' URL, or when you use your custom domain name instead of user.smugmug.com.
