In Google, when searching for Rochester NY Wedding Photographer , I have been The 3rd result on page 1 for the last 3 years. Once NiceName came along, I am now result 35 on the 3rd page. Ouch!

Is there a way to turn off the NiceName feature at an account level? I want it back the way it was.

Give it some time. When changes are made like that, it takes time for Google to see all the new URLs and re-gain the link structure inside the site.

Lou: It is most certainly not NiceNames that did this. I can't say what did, but putting -more- google food out there like we did, would not do this.

    Somethings Up...
I think Google recently made some changes....just a few days ago when you searched for Oklahoma City photographer...a slew of folks would show up in the local business listings including me. Now, only one person shows up and it's not me :cry

Even changes that improve rankings over time can reduce rankings short term. A change in URLs would definitely do that, even if properly redirected. So before you go on the hunt I'd wait a week and see if it's still ranked low.

It's also possible that Google is giving you a penalty. The fact that it's put you in the 30's gives indication to that. (search for google 30 penalty)

There is such thing as too much of a good thing. Google does penalize for keyword stuffing, and if your page with the new names looks spammy it could be that. You could try reducing the phrase "Rochester NY Wedding Photographer" from the page you are trying to rank, and see if it ranks higher in a few days.
