I have a serious issue

OK folks. I hope someone can help me here because I'm totally freaking out. Earlier today, I added some hidden text to my bio box so google searches would look nicer than my homepages slideshow code.

So, I get home from work and google MY SITE, www.jcimageworks.com and the second listing under results directs you to:

www.jcimageworks.com/gallery/5444596_43XmS

THIS IS NOT MY SITE!! IT TAKES YOU TO A PAGE ON SOMEONE ELSES SITE CALLED KRIS KROS PHOTOGRAPHY!!

What in the world is going on??

The google listing for this link even says, JCIMAGEWORKS' Photos!!

We've fixed this and google will re-crawl correct links. Sorry for that hassle.

I ran into this issue as well the other day and then just happened to read someone else's post asking about it. See the thread below and specifically post #2 which answered most of my questions. I'm still uncomfortable with the fact that it happened but hopefully the fix will be rolled out this Friday. My images may not be fantastic but they are certainly not as bad as some of the stuff the google link was pointing to.

Is it safe to assume I have to wait for google to refresh it's links before the correction will take place because it's still wrong

Certainly not my images and yes no doubt we will have to wait for google to sort out smugmugs errors and omissions.

I'll be looking at the alternatives when its account renewal time, its gone to shi*t over here.

Yes and No. Our next push should cause the incorrect urls to be replaced by correct ones when someone visits them. We've already fixed the place that was giving them out. Google's results may take awhile to be corrected. More details in this other thread.

Just to let you know that my google links are now correct. Thanks for the fast fix!
