Today, the vet convinced us that it was time for the dog to be put down, and I was forced to admit that she indeed was uncomfortable and in lots of pain.

She was our "starter" child, and taught us patience, generosity and being responsible parents. She was the loving 'fuzzy sister' to two little girls, who have never known a time without their pet. It will be hard on us all, but a wonderful life lesson for my kids. Even in death, our dog continues to give and share her love.

She was an abandoned older puppy, whom we rescued on a chance visit to the pound. She lived to 15 years, putting her squarely in 'bonus time' for a lab. She was the best dog ever, the most obedient, loving and tolerant animal I have ever known. I will never forget her, nor will I ever replace her.

Goodbye Morgan, thanks for sharing your life with us.

Awful stuff this being an adult thing isn't it? She's better off, but that doesn't help much does it? I let a dog go on longer than she should have, simply because I couldn't bring myself to do it.

I'm sure on one minds about this one bit.

I am sorry for the loss of one of your family.

While no words or pictures can eliminate the pain, nothing can stop the wonderful memories.

Thanks all, and right you are Sam. Of course, her declining health allowed us to prepare, sort of, but it is still strange not to be woken up for a walk or to be greeted when I get home from work.

I am sorry for your loss. I've been down that road also. The decision is not an easy one to make even though we know it is the right one...
    RIP Morgan

What a beautiful dog she was.

It is so hard to do the right thing for our pets at the end. But you did the right thing for the animal you loved. She will live in your hearts.

My best to you and your family at this sad time for you all.

    Virginia
