    i will be starting a monthly " challenge" on a specified theme, starting october 1st.

    may encourage people to shoot something different to what they usually do :D .

    Phil, I like Urte's idea. Perhaps a pinned thread where everyone could post pics of their rigs in action in the field. I couldn't begin to count how many times people have asked, "What lens did you use to take that picture?" Might be a good starting place for those contemplating going macro.

    Secondly, what about another pinned thread where all the bug ID requests could be collected? This could be a Dgrin repository of various bug photos with IDs in one place. This would be a great place for someone to go FIRST to see if someone has already posted a pic of a similar critter and would cut down on duplicate posts (and fruitless searches).

    Can macro that is not bugs/flowers be posted in this forum? I dont like it when my threads get moved, so just thought i'd check first.

    I'd like to suggest that some of the challenges (great idea, glad i've come back to dgrin to see allthese new changes) be non-bug/plant. I think sometimes people get stuck in a rut and maybe there's a whole new non-living world out there to macro-photo :D
