Pelicans

Today, while we were on the Sunday walk with my family I have noticed the pelican's skin pouches were exteremly vivid in colours. To my recollection these are usually lightly pink. They were quite far from us and it took a while for a pair of them to come within useable range of my lens.
I also noticed they waved the pouches in an unusual way.

I like them too. They are here in abundance on Central Coast of NSW. There is something special about the colours of this group. It could be a different species or they are in "love" plumage.

I'm glad you've enjoyed the picture. I'm not a "bird man" so when they pop like just from f707 it feels special.
