Here are just a couple from yesterday...
These were taken in Whittier Alaska, which is about an hours drive from Anchorage... you have to drive through a 1 way 2 mile tunnel under a mountain to get to the town. It is a teensy town (even by my standards), with a really nice hotel.

1. Here are the bride and groom. Me and my assistant were the guests and witnesses.

3. There were a side cars and engines on some track that looked unused... so we used it. Night was falling prematurely due to the storm, so this is at 3200 ISO!! Whooee, I was holding my breath.

4. I wish I could have gotten all the bench in, but it was right up next to a building and the building had an ugly gas meter right there. So chopping the bench was the only alternative. It was REALLY raining. I hid under my 60 inch brolly on a lightstand for actual rain protection. It worked really slick.

5.
While we were shooting a truck pulled up and I was sure that it was a RR person coming to yell at us for shooting where we were... but no, it was the Mayor of Whittier, coming to congratulate the couple and ask them why in the world they would want to get married in Whittier of all places! It was pretty funny- he would have made a lousy tourism guy, but he was very sweet. The rain drops in this photo aren't on my lens... they were being captured by the flash shooting from under my umbrella I was hiding under.

Very lovely images, as always. You are a braver gal than me to go out in the rain with my equipment, but it sounds like you had good covering. Isn't it neat to know that you and your assistant got to be part of their private ceremony? I got to do that last year when I shot a private wedding.

Love the staircase, that's beautiful! #3 is beautiful...but of course, they all are beautiful.

Very nice stuff. You always get the best from your settings and weather, very much a professional.
I really like your iso 3200 shot, amazing what can be done with the high iso's with the current generation of cameras..that shot is a bit crooked by the way...if you care...didn't bother me any.

    Nice!
I really like #3. If you have a lot of noise in this shot, (you said ISO 3200), I would look at using noise reduction and a dreamy type glow effect.

I really love them all! And the weather and location makes them so unique, they're definitely not shots you see in every portfolio!

Whoa! You and the assistants were the guests and witnesses? How awesome it is for the B&G to share their day with you! I really liked the last shot!

Thanks everyone! ISO 3200 is not something for the faint of heart... it is nervewracking. But it worked out. We got shots that we definitely wouldn't have. I was just tickled that she would go out in the pouring rain, and pose without an umbrella in some of them! What a treat!
This is the second wedding I have done where I was the witness, and that is pretty fun. The one thing about having fewer people in attendance, and not a whole lot going on is I took a lot less photos. I mean, once the ceremony is done, just how many detail shots do you really want of someone eating their dinner? But still they get around 200, so that should be plenty.

Mmm...so pretty...I really love the contrasts...and the train track shot is great! I don't think it looks too noisy at all...

I've actually eaten in that hotel, I think it was in the table just to the right of the one used by the B&G - how funny is that?

As for the photos, 3200 is way cool in the 5D2 isn't it? These turned out so beautiful. I think my faves would be #1, #2, #3, and .... #4 ..... and #5 hmmmmm?bowdown.gif
