This is Kinder Scout taken from Kinder Reservoir. The hill is one of the highest in England. Once on its plateau the lack of landmarks combined with the incredibly fast changes in weather conditions has cost some of the unprepared their lives.
It's my favourite place in the county in which I live; I love its bleak wildness and the fact it's relatively (not completely) untouched by human-kind.

Kinder Scout's approximately 2,050ft (610m) or so above sea level and its prominence is approximately 1,500ft (460m). The reservoir I took the photo from is about a third of the way up.
